Committees


In order to obtain continuous feedback from key stakeholders and to assist in the effective delivery of programs, the Agency has created a network of committees. The following committees are being utilized by the Agency:

  • Business Retention and Expansion (BRE) Local Action Team: The BRE Local Action Team meets to review the progress of the BRE initiative and to assume responsibility for follow up when applicable.   • Eco-Kings Action Team: The Eco-Kings Action Team has evolved from a specific committee that was established to oversee the One Tonne Challenge in 2005-2006. This committee remained active beyond this initial project and now serves to oversee projects of a regional environmental nature.   • Immigration Steering Committee: The Immigration Steering Committee was formed to implement projects to assist immigrants in the settling in-process in Kings County.   • Innovation Council: The Kings Innovation Council creates alliances between different economic sectors through the coming together of entrepreneurs, researchers, educators, governments and agencies. This group leads and facilitates all projects that deal with personal and corporate innovation.   • Tourism Kings Committee: The Tourism Kings Committee provides input and support on tourism related initiatives of the Kings RDA. The main emphasis is on product development, with the committee working closely to support Destination Southwest Nova Scotia on marketing initiatives.   • Technology Committee: The Technology Committee is a networking group comprised of a diverse set of professionals. Committee members share best practices, network and provide input and support on technology projects of the Kings RDA.   • Volunteer Steering Committee: The Volunteer Steering Committee was formed to determine the feasibility of a Volunteer Network for KIngs County and to implement the network if deemed necessary.
